I suddenly found myself in need of help and not knowing where to go and found myself at the resource centre where I was given information I needed and directed to other services that I may need, from very welcoming and friendly staff.

After my separation, the family resource centre was a crutch to me. I was a very broken person when somebody recommended me to seek their help, that was 10 years ago and I’ve not looked back since. They provided me with a safe positive, friendly place to meet other lone parents which I could befriend and share stories with.
Valuable support and advice to help me get back on my feet (citizens advice). A safe, positive place which I felt comfortable asking for help. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help but it is much easier when the staff are so welcoming and sincere. The opportunity to access training, courses for free inc Rainbows, Children First, Antibullying, mentoring, group facilitation, Beginning Experience (life after separation)
All of which have helped me on my C.V and successful employment while also building my confidence. A separation especially when you don’t see it coming is a massive big deal, I felt like my world had fallen apart but the centre and its staff gave me the resources to rebuild my life. This is the reason I have become a volunteer and friend to the LFRC and will always be grateful for their help and continued support.
